A man who visits small cities and towns across Iowa to run, take pictures, and write a poem about the community will be speaking tonight at the Newton DMACC Auditorium.
Tyler Sullivan is the next guest for the United Way of Jasper County’s free Fall Speaker series “Voices of Inspiration”. Executive Director of the United Way of Jasper County Jessica Lowe Vokes is in charge of scheduling the speakers, and found out about Sullivan through Facebook.
“He does a page called “Iowa Scenic Views By Foot”. He goes to all these small towns, and runs at least one mile. He tries to visit their museums and courthouses. So he’s just trying to learn about Iowa, it’s people, and he shares it on facebook and writes poetry about each place he’s visited.”
Doors to the free event at the Newton DMACC Auditorium open at 6 p.m. this evening with a free-will donation encouraged to help continue and grow the speaker series. Seating is first come, first served.
