The Pleasantville Football Squad is playing in the quarterfinal playoffs for the first time since 2005. The Trojans are trying to make their 6th overall semifinal appearance, but to accomplish that, Pleasantville will have to go through a program that has become one of the blue bloods in small school football around the state, Iowa City Regina. The Regals are unbeaten in ten games this season and many have not been close and have a loaded roster that boasts of several playmakers. Pleasantville Coach Mack Jorth tells KNIA Sports there are not many weaknesses in Regina, but he says it will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes will have the advantage.

Jorth: “Everybody said the team that makes the least amount of mistakes usually has the advantage. If we can limit their special teams scores, and not turn the ball over and not be our worst enemy, then I think we have a chance.”

The Trojans met Regina last year in the 1st round of the class 1A playoffs and lost 32-21. Pleasantville got to the quarterfinals by beating Durant in the 1st round and Hudson last week on the road while Regina has had two home games and have won by lopsided scores over Northeast and Cascade. Live coverage is on KNIA with the pregame at 6:30 and kick off at 7:00.
