One of the great traits for the Knoxville Volleyball Squad this season was the ability of the Panthers to dig themselves out of adversity. Several times during the season, the Panthers either trailed in sets or allowed the opponent to go on a run, but usually found a way out of the problem. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, it was fun to watch the girls figure out how to get out of a problem without her calling a time out.
Keitges: “They just stayed calm and did their thing, and dug themselves out of some holes here and there in conference matches, and they stayed calm and composed and played Panther Volleyball.”
A stat that many may not realize is that Keitges never had to use a time out during the conference matches. She was close on a few occasions, but her girls always found a way out of a rut. Knoxville finished the season with a 28-13 record and swept the South Central Conference.
