Simpson Productions starts their performance of the musical Little Shop of Horrors tonight. Director Jennifer Nostrala tells KNIA News the dark and entertaining musical has been a staple of American musical theatre, and is a cult classic going all the way back to the 1980s after a movie.
“It’s about this guy, Seymour, who works in a florist shop that is on skid row and now doing very well. He finds a strange and interesting plant, and everything in the shop turns around because the plant is so amazing. It just so happens though, the plant is a man-eating plant, and that creates some difficulty as we move on in the story.”
Shows are tonight and tomorrow at 7:30pm, and Sunday at 2pm, with all performances in the Blank Performing Arts Center in the Simpson College campus. Hear more on today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
