Four of the five starting positions for the Knoxville Girls basketball Squad are solidified and now the job for Coach Tracy Wilkins is to find a guard that can handle the ball. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports whoever it is needs to be well versed and knowledgeable in the game, but more…they need to give an effort that shows they want to be on the floor.

Wilkins: “Because the positions we’re looking forward we’re looking for a guard and more of a point guard and they need to be well versed in the game beyond their years, but more importantly they need to show us the effort and go hard all the time.”

Wilkins adds that effort is not something that can be coached and it has to come within. Knoxville will host Ottumwa this Friday in an Achieve Scrimmage and will open the season on Tuesday at home against Fairfield.
