The Indianola Noon Lions donated $2,000 to the Helping Hand of Warren County earlier this week, helping those in need in the community.

Executive Director of The Helping Hand of Warren County Rachel Klein tells KNIA News in October they served 451 families, which is an all-time high. Klein said due to the disruption of SNAP benefits, the volume of use of the food pantry will be significantly higher.

“If a food pantry hands out a meal, the SNAP benefits provide nine meals for every one meal a food pantry is able to provide. There is just no comparison that we are able to do what SNAP can do, but we are going to try.”

Donations are accepted Monday- Saturday 8-11am, Tuesdays 8-2:30pm, and Wednesdays 4-7:30pm. Find more information below.
