The Christmas Season at the Pella Opera House has begun and runs through Saturday, December 7th.
In addition to their ongoing Festival of Trees celebration, the Pella Opera House will have three concerts during the holiday season. The first concert, Traditions of Christmas at the Opera House, will be held on Sunday at 2 pm. Executive Director Cyndi Atkins says the performance will feature traditional Christmas favorites performed on the Barton Theatre Organ and by a variety of vocalists and instrumentalists.
“This great concert features a ton of traditional Christmas music, as well as new this year, the Pella Opera House Choir singing selections from Handel’s Messiah. Plus we have the children’s choir, we have the audience sing alongs, we have so much fun at two o’clock on Sunday with Traditions of Christmas.”
On Friday, December 12th, Jordan Smith returns to the Pella Opera House for his Christmas concert. This will be Smith’s fourth time at the Opera House for the Christmas season. Smith was showcased on the national stage in 2015, when he became the “Best-selling artist in the history of NBC’s The Voice” and the winner of Season 9 of the show. The final concert at the Pella Opera House will be Jake and Mikayla: Rock This Christmas! on Thursday, December 18th at 7 pm.
