toy-swap

The Newton Public Library is holding its first ever Holiday Toy Swap this week. Youth Services Librarian Phyllis Peter says people will receive a ticket for each gently used or new toy they bring to the library and donate through Saturday, December 6th. They then come back to the Newton Public Library between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, December 8th and select one new toy per ticket to take home.

“We just ask that any of the donated toys be clean and in good condition. So we are going to see how this goes. I think it will be very popular.”

Peter expects some families to use the toy swap to pick up some “new to you” gifts to give to their children. She adds the library will not accept stuffed animals or toys that contain or primarily consist of fabric.
