The City of Newton’s popular free summer concerts will continue next year with many familiar performers and some new ones. The concerts will be held on Thursdays at the Maytag Bowl from May 28th through July 30th, 2026. The performers were selected and the schedule was developed by members of Newton’s Community Development staff, using a review of the popularity of prior acts, community input, and the availability of the performers.
The Newton City Band will play four times next summer on May 28th, June 11th and 25th, and July 2nd. Also returning from last summer are the 60s, 70s, and 80s country music band Outlaw Country Express, and the band Hudson Road, which plays traditional country with a rock edge. Outlaw Express will take the Maytag Bowl Stage on June 4th, and Hudson Road wraps up the Summer Concert Series on July 30th. The other performers are Dueling Pianos on June 18th, Barefoot Becky & The Ivanhoe Dutchman on July 9th, rock and soul classics band Rhythmic Rewind on July 16th, and acoustic country and rock band Rural Route on July 23rd.
