A faith-based non-profit facility in Newton that works to improve the lives of people struggling with addiction celebrated its 10th Anniversary with an open house Tuesday. Discover Hope 517 Ministries was founded by Robbie Robinson, a former drug addict who spent time in prison. Robinson is the Executive Director of Discover Hope. He says the Open House served two purposes. It provided information about what all goes on at their building on First Avenue East, and gave the non-profit a way to say thank you to all those who support their work.

“All those who donate food. All those who come and serve and volunteer their time. We have a huge volunteer pool at Discover Hope. Just our way of saying thank you and giving back, and providing an opportunity for our community to come in and see what we are doing to serve our community.”

Discover Hope’s facility in Newton includes Restoration House For Men, which is a 12-month, men’s only program that provides housing for up to ten individuals transitioning from addiction treatment to living on their own.
