
The PCM girls and boys basketball teams picked up wins over West Marshall at home Tuesday night in a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader.
The Mustang girls started strong out of the gate leading 13-2 at the end of the first quarter and going into half with a 30-15 lead. PCM held the Trojans to just five points in the entire second half and closed out the game with a 54-20 win. Tori Lindsay and Kenna Grier led the Mustangs in scoring with 12 points which came off four three pointers each. Libby Winters had 11 points in the contest while Kyra Naeve had nine. The PCM girls improve to 2-1 on the season.
The Mustang boys just led by two points at halftime as they were up 22-20 heading into the break. PCM the outscored the Trojans 16-7 in the third quarter to gain some momentum and closed out the contest with a 48-37 win. The PCM boys were led in scoring by Joe Shaver who had ten points but nine different Mustangs entered the scoring column in the game. The PCM boys improve to 1-1 on the year.
The PCM boys and girls basketball teams will be back in action on Friday at Saydel.
