Pella’s boys basketball team used its balanced offensive attack to topple Grand View Christian in non-district action on Thursday in a 79-72 win. Austin Schulte led the way with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, followed by Jack McGuire’s 16 — Michael Manning, David Garner, and Maddox Smith also all scored eight points each. The 2-0 Dutch join the girls for a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader against Norwalk in their home debut. Live coverage begins at 5:45 this evening on 92.1 KRLS.

On the road east, the Pella boys wrestling team opened their season with a 56-19 win over Ottumwa and a 72-9 win over Burlington. The following Dutch wrestlers were 2-0:
