
Both Knoxville Boys and Girls Wrestling Squads were in action on Saturday as the girls traveled to Newton and placed runner-up while the boys were at the Coach Riley Invitational at Nodaway Valley and placed 9th. The girls came away with two individual champions with Serenity Turner winning the 110 pound weight class and Mariah Ripperger taking the 235 pound class. In all Knoxville had ten podium finishers including Pyper Smith, Alyssa McCreery, Aaliyah Swanson, Laila Pedicini, Isabelle Sinnard, Cally Landis, Andie Branson, and Molly Finnegan. The boys left Nodaway Valley with six podiums led by Jaden Alexander at 138 and Mason Sage at 157 in 3rd place. Carter Marshall at 132 pounds and Regan Roberts at 285 both took 5th place and Jackson Clarke at 165 and Jace Kading at 175 took 6th place. The girls are at Albia on Tuesday while the boys will be at a quad at Collins/Maxwell on Thursday.
