Three Indianola car dealerships partnered throughout the month of November to collect funds to donate to the Helping Hand of Warren County, and presented a $20,000 donation on Monday. DeYarman Ford, Southtown Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, and Gregg Young Chevrolet donated $50 per car sold, and collected food and cash donations from the public over the month.

Rachel Klein with the Helping Hand of Warren County tells KNIA News she was at a loss for words of the generosity of the donation and the partnership between the dealerships, and the $20,000 will go a long way towards feeding those in need in Warren County.

“I purchase the majority of our food through the Food Bank of Iowa, I’m getting a delivery today of about 6,500lbs of food and it is costing me a little over $600. So this $20,000 will just really help stretch that budget.”

DeYarman Ford owner Doug DeYarman said afterwards the three dealerships are competitors in terms of selling the brand of cars, but it was important to all of them that they come together to support the community when it was in need.
