The Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads split with Moravia as the girls got a big win over the MoHawks 33-31 while the boys lost 84-41. Kesley Reed had a double double with 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Saints charge while Maddi DeJong scored eight. Coach Kelsey Goff told KNIA Sports there were many turnovers for her liking but they made shots and free throws to close out the game. The boys ran into a buzzsaw as Moravia shot well and the Saints did not. Reece Chiabotta had 14 points to lead Melcher-Dallas while Evan Schrader scored eight and Colton Cox had seven. Both Saints are off until Saturday when they will take a trip to Des Moines to take on Moulton-Udell at the Casey’s Center.
