
The Pleasantville boys basketball team defeated Van Meter for the first time in school history on the road Friday as the girls came up short in a West Central Conference varsity doubleheader.
The Trojan boys outscored the Bulldogs in all four frames to earn a 76-61 win. Braylon Bingham led the Pleasantville boys in scoring with 20 points while Nolan Fichter had 14, and Cash Klootwyk, Drake Elliot, and Levi Willoughby all had 11. The Trojan boys have impressed this week to improve to 2-2 overall by beating two teams for the first time in school history as they took down #5 ranked Madrid on Tuesday.
The Trojan girls fell in their contest to the Bulldogs 45-22. Taylor Perkins was the leading scorer with 11 points as Liv Klootwyk had 8. The Pleasantville girls fall to 3-2 on the season.
The Pleasantville boys and girls were supposed to play Chariton at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines today but due to weather those games have been postponed to a date to be determined. Both teams will now be back in action on Tuesday at Ogden.
