A local non-profit organization in Pella that is continuing to sponsor and support refugees in need across the globe is looking for an executive director.

The Refugee Engagement and Support Alliance of Pella (RESAP), which started as the Pella Welcome Corps, became an independent, non-profit group this past fall. Having established themselves as a non-profit, the organization is now seeking to find some to oversee and direct all activities of the group, including compliance with all grant requirements and state and federal regulations. Other responsibilities of the new executive director include designing, coordinating and evaluating refugee services in the community, providing supportive services to refugee and immigrant clients, and helping clients develop goals and facilitate service plans that enable each client to meet their goals. Laura Reif with the organization says the RESAP board has collectively been doing the work of an executive director, and that they are excited to bring on someone to help the group grow.

“We’re ready for someone to take the helm and we’re ready for somebody to come in and begin the work of building more connections with other agencies in the state of Iowa, building support within the community, and continuing to build our volunteer base and bring new people on board.”
