The Marion County Board of Supervisors discussed the county salary study in a special session on Tuesday.

In August, the board hired The Austin Peters Group out of Fort Collins, CO to complete a county employee salary and job classification study. At Tuesday’s special session, a member of the Austin Peters Group presented the results of the first part of the study and what the process of the salary study consisted of. The board will now consider two financial options for the county to move to a step pay program with one being the market average for their position and one being in the 60th percentile of pay for their job. The market average would increase employee wages by 4.7% and the 60th percentile would increase by 5.1%.

The board will make a decision regarding the two options at their regular session meeting next week.
