The Norwalk wrestling teams combined to win four out of five duals in Tuesday night’s home meets. The Warrior girls swept a Little Hawkeye Conference triangular, defeating Newton 51-30 and topping Oskaloosa 69-6. The Warrior boys beat Newton 48-30 and Oskaloosa 51-27, but lost to Carlisle 46-31.

Three Norwalk girls won both of their matches by fall: Mya Wojtowicz at 120 pounds, Skylynn Finnegan at 145 and Malaika Scholten 190. Margaret Evans was also 2-0, winning a pair of decisions. Overall, the Warriors won 12 of 16 matches. Additional pins against Newton were recorded by Layla Page, Cennedy Allen, Kaylie Popiano and Mimi Dautovic.

The Norwalk girls improved to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in conference duals. They will travel to Ames for a quad meet on Thursday at 5:30, wrestling the Little Cyclones, Woodward-Granger and Albia.

The Norwalk boys won 23 total matches in their home quad on Tuesday, improving to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the Little Hawkeye. The following Warrior wrestlers went 3-0 on the night: Asaiah Martinez at 132, Blake Stanford 144, Maksym Rooney-Kozak 165 and Victor Esparza 190. Stanford, Rooney-Kozak and Esparza each recorded two pins and a technical fall. Norwalk wrestlers with two wins included Gabriel Colunga at 106, Caleb Clark 113, Madox Ward 138 and Kale Wadle 150.

The Warriors will compete in the Battle of Waterloo Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
