holiday-lights-delayed

Some of the nearly 400 lighted Christmas displays at Newton’s Maytag Park are experiencing outages due to wet conditions. City staff say the outages are being caused by warmer temperatures and melting snow. The moisture causes some of the lights to shut off automatically as a safety precaution. Staff notes they will restore the affected lights as conditions dry out, and add that rain could cause more outages before conditions improve.

Maytag Park’s Holiday Lights will be up through New Year’s Day, and are lit from 5 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. nightly, unless there is rain.
