When Pella Christian High School students return from Christmas break, they will start the second semester outside of the traditional classroom experience.
Pella Christian’s 14th annual Winterim will be held from January 5th through the 9th, with students participating in unique classes, out of state trips, and career exploration opportunities at several local businesses. Trixanna Wang, who oversees the career exploration opportunities as part of the Winterim Committee, says the experience provides students a chance to discover what interests they might have beyond high school.
“What a great opportunity for kids to be able to dig into various careers that they might not know much about. For many of our students, we find that some of them find a career that they love, and for a lot of them they find out that that’s a career they’re not really interested in. And frankly, being able to figure that out already as a high school student is great, because it can start to form their perspectives as they move towards whatever life has after high school.”
