It’s been a new field to compete in for Pella’s band programs, as in 2025-26, their championship-winning ensembles jumped into Class 4A. This past week at the South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association regional contest, their tradition of excellence continued. Pella placed 2nd in Class 4A behind Valley, defeating Waukee Northwest, Waukee, and Ames, to earn an automatic qualifying spot at the 2026 Iowa Jazz Championships. Pella has won five consecutive Class 3A state championships, and 22 all-time.
