The Knoxville City Council welcomed two new council members at their meeting on Monday as they recognized eight years of service for two members coming off.

Oaths of office were administered at the meeting to new council members Chris Nichols and Dan Losada who will be starting four year terms after being elected in early November. Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch also received his oath of office as he will now start his seventh term as the Mayor. Former council members Dylan Morse and Megan Day were recognized and received gifts honoring their eight years of service with the Knoxville City Council. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery says she is thankful for Megan and Dylan’s service and she is hopeful that positive momentum will continue with the new council members.

“There were a lot of great things that have happened over the last eight years with Dylan and Megan and the other council members and I think Dan Losada and Chris Nichols coming in, I think we will be able to continue that progress and forward thinking that our previous council worked so hard to establish.”

The council will not meet again until January.
