Enrollment at Pella Christian Schools is continuing to grow. Head of Schools Dan Zylstra says that there are 874 students in preschool through 12th grade this school year. Zylstra says that they are grateful to see numbers continue to grow, but adds that numbers may plateau or decrease slightly in the coming years due to graduation and smaller class size at lower grade levels.

“Our high school this year has the highest enrollment we’ve ever had in that building. Much of that is attributed to good retention, and then we had a very large eighth grade class that came in. So between those two factors, we’ve got 306 kids in that building. Our grade school has continued to fill out. We’re at 492, and we have 76 more in preschool. And preschool is a little smaller this year, but we know there’s just some fluctuations in the population. We’ve seen that across town as well too where there just seems to be lower preschool numbers right now.”
