As the high school winter sports season has paused for the holidays, Norwalk’s teams and athletes will gear back up for competition beginning in early 2026. The following is a list of the first competition dates for each Norwalk winter sports team in 2026:

 

Boys & Girls Bowling

Saturday 1/3- vs. Newton (postponed from 12/13/25), 9 a.m., Air Lanes Bowling Center, Des Moines

 

Boys Basketball

Saturday 1/3- vs. Cedar Rapids Washington (Conference Crossover), 10 a.m., Alliant Energy PowerHouse, Cedar Rapids

 

Girls Basketball

Saturday 1/3- vs. Ankeny Centennial, 3:30 p.m., Norwalk High School NPECC

 

Boys Wrestling

Tuesday 1/6- vs. Centerville & Pella, 6:30 p.m., Norwalk High School NPECC

 

Girls Wrestling

Thursday 1/8- vs. English Valleys & Newton (Girls Wrestling Quad), 5:30 p.m., Pella High School

 

Boys Swimming (Lincoln)

Thursday 1/8- vs. Marshalltown, 5:30 p.m., Lincoln High School Pool, Des Moines

 

With the exception of the wrestling teams, Norwalk winter sports have a combined record of 17-7 overall and 8-1 in conference competition at the conclusion of 2025. Detailed 2025 recaps for each Norwalk winter sports team will be posted at kniakrls.com throughout the holiday break.
