The Marion County Board of Supervisors approved a financial option regarding the county salary study at their meeting Tuesday.

The board voted to approve the 60th percentile option of the step pay program that was introduced last week by the Austin Peters Group who is completing the salary study. The board had the option to choose between the market average pay or the 60th percentile and they ultimately chose the option they did to help prevent turnover and be competitive in the job market according to the board members. The board approved three appointments and a resolution for a 28E agreement between the county and City of Pella for local option sales and service tax allocation.

The meeting closed with the board approving a contract for legal representation regarding the Junction 92 project which is almost a full year behind schedule to determine what next steps will be along with approving three change orders for the project and a certificate of substantial completion for the fuel system.
