At winter break, the Pella Christian boys basketball team has four players that are among the leaders of different statistical categories in the Little Hawkeye Conference.

Senior Gilbert Flagel finds himself on the leaderboards of seven different stats in the league after the Eagles first seven games. Among the Little Hawkeye, Flagel leads the conference in free throws made (6.3) and attempted (8.5) per game, and is tied for the league lead in blocks per game (2.2). The senior also ranks second in rebounds per game (7.2) and offensive rebounds per game (2.7), third in points per game (19.5), and fifth in defensive rebounds per game (4.5). Fellow senior Devan Runner is among the top five in two different statistical categories, leading the conference in offensive rebounds per game (3.1), while ranking third in total rebounds per game (7.0). Ben Van Wyngarden, the third Eagles senior featured among the league leaders, ranks third in steals per game (1.9). Sophomore Trey Steinkamp is also on the conference list of stat leaders, ranking third in assists per game (3.1). As a team, Pella Christian allows the fewest points per game of any team in the Little Hawkeye (45.1), while also leading the league in rebounds per game (34.6) and offensive rebounds per game (12.9)

At the break, the Eagles hold a 5-2 overall record. Pella Christian returns to the court on January 6th in the back half of a home conference doubleheader against Newton.
