Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch has started his seventh term.
Hatch has served in the role as Knoxville Mayor for 12 years and was administered his oath of office to start his seventh term as mayor at last Monday’s Knoxville City Council meeting. Over the last several years, Hatch and the city council he has worked with have overseen significant progress and development in the Knoxville community including development at the Veterans District, more housing coming to town, new businesses opening their doors, and several projects that have come to fruition.
Hatch was born and raised in Knoxville and he and his wife Candi have three children, Mason, Jaxson and Lucie. He is employed by the Marion County Engineer’s Office where he is an Engineer Technician. Hatch says he chooses to serve as Mayor because he loves and cares about the community and wants to continue the progress and momentum.
“I love to serve the people, I love Knoxville, this is a great place and I want to see it thrive and be as great as possible so that’s why I’m happy to do this. When you see some of these projects it makes it fun. It’s fulfilling to see those things happen and you think wow we’re doing it and we’re making this place great. Moving forward I don’t plan on anything changing, I just want to keep going. I want to keep moving forward and keep that momentum going.”
