The Marion County Conservation’s Christmas tree drop off site will start today.
The drop off site is located at Marion County Park near the entrance and trees will be accepted through January 15th. The Conservation Department asks that you don’t drop off artificial trees and that trees should be free of all decorations, tree stands, metal fasteners, tinsel, and should not be in plastic bags. Marion County Naturalist Karen Johlas-Szalkowski says that the trees will be used for fish structure and wildlife habitat.
“At Marion County Park this year we are doing our Christmas tree drop off. You just need to remove all decorations from your tree and make sure it’s not in a plastic bag. You can drop that off from December 26th – January 15th right at the entrance of Marion County Park. These trees are then used for fish structure and wildlife habitat.”
Marion County Park is located at 306 Willetts Drive in Knoxville.
