Knoxville Aviation has announced the recipient of their $5,000 Fly Now Scholarship.

The recipient is Amaryllis Jayne Jensen and this scholarship was created to support the next generation of aviators by helping remove financial barriers to flight training. According to Knoxville Aviation, “Ama embodies everything this scholarship stands for. Through hard work, determination, and a genuine passion for flying, she has already shown what it means to commit to this craft.”

The scholarship was for aspiring aviators between the ages of 16-23. To be eligible, applicants had to be able to secure an FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate, be able to pass the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam, live within 35 miles of Knoxville Municipal Airport (KOXV), and plan to complete flight training at Knoxville Aviation. Applicants had to submit an essay as well.
