A local non-profit founded in 2024 was able to assist a child in need on Christmas Eve.
The Open Arms Foundation of Jasper County was approached by local law enforcement about a child facing unsafe circumstances.
According to the group, the child had a trash bag with a single change of clothes and no resources related to Christmas.
The individual received a backpack filled with clothing and toiletries, and through the generosity of supporters, Christmas gifts were delivered as well.
The child is safe and spent the evening watching Christmas movies, eating pizza with law enforcement officers, and opening Christmas presents.
Donations can be made on the organization’s website, openarmsjasper.org
