A Pella City Council member is about to officially end nearly five decades of service to the community. Mark De Jong participated in his last meeting on December 15th, with his final term expiring this week. De Jong was first elected to the Pella City Council in 1977, and since then, he has taken part in several votes that have transformed the city in that time. De Jong is thankful for the many people he’s served with on the council over the years and the many residents he was able to represent in that time.
