A new club formed at Pella High School this academic year aims to connect students with special needs to their peers from throughout the school community.

Emerson Wogen is the president of the Best Buddies Chapter at Pella High School. Wogen says teacher Kindra Black brought the program to Pella following several years of leading a chapter in Urbandale. Emerson believes it’s important that all students feel like they belong in the hallways of the school. Additionally, she says it’s been great to watch her fellow classmates form friendships they otherwise may not have.
