An extended ice skating season has officially started in Pella, with a new chiller system providing opportunities for the winter activity for most of the season.

Bob Zylstra with the Spirit of Pella and Pella Ice Sports Association is grateful for the support of those who donated to make the project a reality.

Ice skating will be available through open skate hours on days when weather conditions don’t rise above 50 degrees. A sign is posted at the Caldwell Park shelterhouse.

Rentals are available at the Pella Community Center during regular hours.

A celebration for the new ice rink chiller will be held on Saturday, January 10th from 1 to 5 p.m., which will include several special activities. Those who would like to support the effort can do so through the Spirit of Pella here.
