Several Newton facilities and city offices will be closing for the New Year’s Holiday. On New Year’s Eve, the gates to the Newton Sanitary Landfill will close at 1 pm, and will also be closed all day on New Year’s Day. The Newton Public Library will close at 3 pm on Wednesday for New Year’s Eve before being closed all of New Year’s Day on Thursday. All Newton City offices will be closed on Thursday for the holiday, and will reopen for normal business hours on Friday.
