Plans are underway to renovate and upgrade Pella Cinemas after 25 years in business.

Pella Cinemas is currently owned by the Community Betterment Organization, a non-profit entity run by local business leaders, and managed by Central College. President Mark Putnam says as an extension of their mission to education, the Pella Cinemas operation is a larger vision of supporting the community that surrounds campus.

A fundraiser is ongoing to support renovations that will update seating with reclining seats, new carpet, upgraded lighting, and a new concession stand. The Community Betterment Organization is searching for additional resources, with $275,000 raised out of a $400,000 goal.
