The Newton City Council will meet for the first time in 2026 on Monday. During the meeting, the council will discuss amending an ordinance related to public camping and consider a resolution to approve a quote for water storage reservoir suction pipe repairs. The city council will also consider the authorization of the purchase of water meters and radio read end points, and the approval of assignment and assumption of the Workforce Housing Loan Program documents between the city, Hatch Development Group LLC., and the Iowa Finance Authority. Monday night’s Newton City Council meeting will begin at 6 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
