The Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas Boys Wrestling Squad went two-and-one at a home quad on Thursday. The Warhawks drubbed Bedford 70-5, and defeated Wayne 54-23 while falling to I-35 44-30. Four Melcher-Dallas athletes wrestled with Hudson Cox and Kyler Reschley going 3-0 on the night. Eric Kirkpatrick and Marshawn Thordarson won one match each. Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas heads to the PCM Invitational on Saturday.
The Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads head to suburban Des Moines playing Ankeny Christian tonight. The girls fell to Diagonal on Tuesday and have been playing shorthanded due to illness, but hope to be at full strength either tonight or tomorrow’s game against Colo-NESCO. ACA is just 2-4 this season, and a game behind Melcher-Dallas in the Bluegrass Conference standings. The Eagles boys are 7-2 with their only losses to Madrid and Pella Christian. In their seven wins they are averaging nearly 77 points per game. The Saints have never beaten Ankeny Christian in 13 Bound Era meetings. Tip off is set for 6:00.
