A local non profit organization is making sure the community is staying warm this winter by providing cold weather apparel to the Pella area.
Crossroads of Pella has been working to collect new donations of winter clothing items to restock their inventory for the people they serve. Pella Christian senior Amaia Agre, who has been working with Crossroads this week as part of her Winterim experience, says she has enjoyed learning about the different ways they impact the Pella community.
“This week for them, I was able to actually go around and pick up boxes of winter items that the community donated, like coats, gloves, hats, and I was able to organize that. I also learned that they provide free counseling services. They have two professionals there and they help with Medicare, and they’re there if you just need to talk to someone, and I’ve learned a lot about just small nonprofit organizations and the help that they provide to communities.”
Those in need of winter wear, or those wanting to make a donation, can stop into Crossroads of Pella between 9am and 5pm on weekdays.
