The end of this week is the application deadline for anyone interested in serving as Jasper County Recorder for the rest of this year. The Jasper County Board of Supervisors are going to appoint a new Jasper County Recorder following the retirement of Denise Allen at the end of last month. The formal appointment will be made during the January 27th Board of Supervisors meeting. 

Any interested person should submit a cover letter, resume, and letters of reference by this Friday, January 16th. The information should be emailed to Jasper County Human Resources Director Dennis Simon, hr@jasperia.org, and County Supervisors Brandon Talsma, btalsma@jasperia.org, Thad Nearmyer, tnearmyer@jasperia.org, and Doug Cupples, dcupples@jasperia.org. The Board of Supervisors will conduct interviews on the afternoon of January 20th.

Special elections cost between $15,000 and $20,000. Due to that cost, and the fact that the position is for only 11 months, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors believes it is best for the vacancy to be filled by an appointment.
