A special experience with unique classes, career exploration opportunities, and trips far away from home has wrapped up on Eagle Lane. The 14th annual Winterim at Pella Christian wrapped up last Friday, with regular classes beginning today.
Several businesses welcomed Pella Christian students over the past week, and four groups left Pella for trips to New York, Florida, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas. Seniors Julia Shmalcs and Garrett Wielard spent their Winterim experience working with KNIA/KRLS Radio and Julia said she enjoyed seeing some of the behind the scenes work that goes into media.
“So a lot of times when it comes to media and writing, we just see the finished product, but something I learned this week that I didn’t really realize before is how much work really goes behind every picture and everything you write. There’s a long thought process and a lot of editing that goes into all the finished products behind the scenes. And also, just coming up with questions as an interviewer off the top of your head while the conversation is going, is a lot harder than most interviewers make it seem.”
