Looking to finish off a busy week strong, the Pella Christian boys basketball team is using their two days off to prepare for another tough test on Friday.
The Eagles opened the week with a pair of close games, winning the first one 58-50 over Knoxville, before falling 55-54 on a last second shot to Dallas Center-Grimes. Pella Christian will host an Indianola squad that has also played multiple close games of late, going 1-4 in their last five games with all five decided by 12 or less points. With both teams using shorter rotations in their close games, Eagles head coach Joe Steinkamp says that preparation will be a key factor in who comes out on top Friday night.
“We’ll start with two really good days of preparation, just stack good practices together, have a locked-in game plan, and hopefully we have another rocking crowd here on Friday night that can help motivate our guys to play well. We really like how we’re playing right now on both ends of the court. We’re finding different ways to score, and we really want to pride ourselves on being one of the best defensive teams in 2A, and I think we’re trending in that direction.”
Coverage of Pella Christian basketball tomorrow night can be found on the KRLS2 stream and on the Pella Christian YouTube Channel beginning at 5:45 pm.
