Both Knoxville Wrestling programs will be on the mats tonight. The Panther boys will head to Chariuton for a double dual with the hosts and Centerville. One of the Panthers who is setting his sights on not only tonight but also bigger upcoming meets plus making another run at the State Meet is senior Regan Roberts. Last weekend, Roberts became the 18th wrestler in school history to win 100 career matches during the PCM Invitational on Saturday. Roberts tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Centerville meet this weekend, which he is the returning champion at 285 pounds, plus conference and districts are all in his crosshairs.

Roberts: “Centerville this Saturday, it’s a huge tournament. I’m the defending champion so that will be great to get a win. I also want to win the conference and be a two-time conference champion but the one I really want is the district.”

Tonight’s first bouts are scheduled to begin at 5:30. While the boys are in Chariton, the girls head to Dallas Center- Grimes to take on the hosts and Pella, stepping up in competition with their 16-5 dual meet record. The Panthers are coming off a runner-up finish at the Ballard Duals on Monday and placed 3rd at the Marshalltown Invitational on Saturday. First matches in Grimes are set to get underway at 5:30.
