
The Indianola Basketball teams head back to Pella for a second time this week with a road contest at Pella Christian. The Indians hit the floor for the third time in five days, as Indianola began the week with a rescheduled home doubleheader with Ames and played Pella Tuesday night.
The Indian Girls jumped to 15th in the Class 5A poll earlier this week after winning by double figures in both games this week. Indianola beat Ames 53-34 and followed it up with a 42-30 win at the Dutch. Senior guard Lauren Olson comes into tonight’s game after a 16 point effort in Tuesday night’s game, and leads the team averaging nearly 14 points a game. The Pella Christian girls are currently 7-6 and 1-4 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
The Indianola Boys have dropped both games this week, with the Ames game being an overtime heartbreaker 47-45. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Indians fell to the Dutch 60-50 and had a brief lead early in the fourth quarter. The duo of Easton McGraw and George Blake continue to lead the Indians after combining for 33 points Tuesday night. Pella Christian comes into the matchup 7-4 and 1-4 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
