Several agencies responded to a structure fire in Melcher Friday night.

At 5:12 PM Friday night, the Melcher-Dallas Fire Department was paged out for a fully engulfed structure fire. According to the department on Facebook, “The harsh winter weather, with high winds and frigid temperatures, gave us additional challenges to fight this fire. After knocking down the flames, tending to hot spots, and getting our trucks back in service, we wrapped up our day around 3:00 am this morning.”

Melcher-Dallas Fire Department was assisted by Pleasantville Emergency Services, Lacona Fire Department, Indiana Township Fire Department, Columbia Fire and Rescue, Marion County Rural Water, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
