For the 3rd straight Monday, the Knoxville Basketball Squads will have a non conference games against a Little Hawkeye Conference team. This time the Panthers travel to Newton. Usually this matchup is played in Des Moines on a Saturday afternoon but the two schools decided to take a break from that routine for at least this season. The girls played better in a 60-26 loss to Clarke on Friday but still had a dry spell that put the Panthers out of the game near halftime. The boys had an easy time over the Indians, winning by 67 points. Panthers Coach Joel Keady knows there is a lot riding on this game with the Panthers facing a virtual must win to keep their postseason seeding hopes intact.

Keady: “They all feel like must win games for me. We try to prepare the way we see best and play to our best. It does seem like a must win to the fact that it will likely affect our postseason ranking and seeding so we have to be ready to go.”

You can hear the call live on 95.3 KNIA with the pregame starting at 5:45.
