The Norwalk School Board reviewed calendar options and approved several contracts during its most recent meeting, covering long-term planning, facilities, and instructional support.
Members discussed two draft master calendars for the 2026–27 school year, with the main difference being winter break length. District leaders noted the upcoming year will include a full review of the calendar and conference schedule as part of the regular survey rotation.
Action items approved included a $37,500 contract with the Donovan Group to support communications for the district’s bond referendum, and a new scholarship application platform with AppCentri, providing improved security and accessibility at a cost of about $11 per student applicant.
The board also approved the 2025–26 Title I budget, totaling just over $168,000, with the district supplementing staff costs using at-risk funds. Facility updates included a revised high school roofing project at approximately $572,000 from the PPEL fund, and an agreement with SVPA Architects for transportation building and bond planning design work.
Additional approvals included a private nursing MOU, cognitive coaching professional learning, and a Frontline evaluation system to consolidate administrator evaluations and prepare for a teacher pilot in 2026–27.
