The PCM girls and boys basketball teams defeated Perry at home Tuesday night in a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader as the girls wrestling team went 1-1 at a triangular hosted by Pella.

The girls wrestling team defeated Pekin 36-30 and fell to Pella 48-24. Ryan DeVore, Hadley Millang, and Lily Birkenholtz all recorded two pinfalls a piece at the triangular. Coach Ervan DeVore said the girls wrestled well being short handed on the night and battling illness and injuries. DeVore says his team’s focus is getting healthy for their last two meets. The PCM girls wrestling team will be back in action on Friday for the Heart of Iowa Conference meet hosted by Saydel. 

The #7 ranked PCM girls basketball team won their 13th straight game defeating Perry in commanding fashion. The PCM girls led 34-12 at half and closed out the game with a 55-25 win. The Mustang girls were led in scoring by Libby Winters and Kenna Grier who both had 16 points. The PCM girls improve to 14-1 overall and remain perfect in conference play.

The Mustang boys held Perry to just two points in the first frame and went into halftime up 32-14. PCM would then end the game with a 65-41 win. The Mustangs were led in scoring by Chase Wagaman who had 12 points and Kevin Thomas who had 10 but a remarkable 13 different Mustangs contributed to the scoring in the contest. The PCM boys have now won four in a row and improve to 10-4 overall and 8-3 in league play. 

The PCM basketball teams will be back in action on Friday against Greene County.
