The Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad put three players in double figures and gradually pulled away in a 66-48 win over rival Melcher-Dallas on Tuesday. Both teams started slowly with the Sabers leading 12-7 after one quarter but the scoring picked up on both sides in the middle two quarters with Twin Cedars leading 47-39 after three quarters. That is when the Sabers put away the Saints with a 19-9 edge in the final eight minutes. Holden Roberts led the Sabers with 19 points, Robert Goemaat scored 12 and Kaden Kloster had ten points and ten rebounds. Saints Coach Matt Bennett told KNIA Sports the post presence was not there with Connor Goff going down with an injury and his backup out due to illness. Bennett added his team played well despite being shorthanded most of the night. Austin Remster scored 16 points and Reece Chiabotta had 14. Melcher-Dallas will host Mormon Trail on Friday. The Sabers next game is in the upcoming Bluegrass Conference Tournament which starts this weekend.
