Four Pleasantville varsity athletic teams will be in action tonight.

The Trojan boys and girls basketball teams will travel to Des Moines Christian for a West Central Conference doubleheader. The games were originally scheduled for Friday but were moved up a day due to forecasted extreme cold temperatures. Both the girls and boys teams fell at home on Tuesday to Van Meter as the boys lost 74-36 and the girls fell in their contest 71-43. The boys currently sit at 7-5 overall as the girls sit at 6-7 on the year.

The Des Moines Christian boys are 8-3 overall and the #2 ranked girls team is 13-2. The Trojan girls are led in scoring by freshman Liv Klootwyk who is averaging 11.3 points per game and the boys are led by junior Braylon Bingham who averages 22.2. Tonight’s doubleheader starts at 6:00 pm. 

The Trojan boys and girls wrestling teams will both be in action Thursday. The girls team will compete at a quad hosted by Colfax-Mingo which will also feature BCLUW and West Marshall and the boys will be at Albia for a quad that will also feature Davis County and Central Decatur. Both teams are coming off the West Central Conference Tournament where the girls finished third and the boys finished sixth. Tonight’s girls quad starts at 6:00 and the boys will start at 5:30.
